What skin tightening is — and what to expect.
What it is
Our skin tightening treatments use medical-grade radio frequency — together with Venus Legacy 4D Lipolysis (multi-polar RF + pulsed magnetic fields + VariPulse vacuum) on the body — to heat the dermal layer, contract existing collagen and stimulate new collagen production over the following 8–12 weeks. Suitable for face, neck, jowls, abdomen, upper arms and inner thighs.
Who it's for
Ideal for clients experiencing early to moderate skin laxity due to age, weight loss, pregnancy or sun damage. Best results in clients aged 30–65 with realistic expectations.
When it's needed
Skin laxity becomes noticeable for most men and women in their 30s and accelerates through perimenopause. Earlier intervention produces better, longer-lasting results.
Why expert delivery matters
Once collagen production declines (after age 30, by approximately 1% per year), only specific treatments can stimulate new collagen synthesis. Topical creams and at-home devices cannot reach the depth required to trigger this response.
The cost of leaving it untreated.
Skin laxity is progressive — and the longer it's left, the more invasive future treatment options become.
Risks & escalation
- Collagen loss accelerates from your 30s, dropping rapidly through perimenopause.
- Sun damage compounds laxity by breaking down existing collagen and elastin fibres.
- Significant weight loss often leaves loose skin that doesn't retract on its own.
- Untreated severe laxity may eventually require surgical intervention (face/neck lift, abdominoplasty).
Common mistakes
- Relying on expensive creams that don't penetrate the dermal layer.
- Booking laser treatments without addressing underlying skin laxity.
- Waiting too long to begin treatment — early laxity responds significantly better than advanced laxity.
- Choosing budget RF treatments using underpowered equipment that can't reach therapeutic temperatures.

Maintenance
Single maintenance sessions every 4–8 weeks preserve and build on results long-term.
Specific outcomes you can expect.
Stimulates new collagen
RF triggers natural collagen synthesis — your body does the firming work.
Lifts and firms without surgery
Visible tightening on face, neck, jowls, arms and abdomen with no scarring or downtime.
Gradual, natural-looking results
Improvement builds over weeks — no sudden 'done' look that gives treatments away.
Safe for all skin tones
Unlike some laser treatments, RF is safe and effective on all Fitzpatrick skin types.
Combinable with other treatments
Pairs perfectly with cavitation, EMS and facial treatments for compounded results.
Long-lasting
New collagen, once produced, lasts years with simple maintenance.
Everything that goes into expert skin tightening.
Skin tightening relies on heat reaching the correct dermal depth to trigger collagen response. Here's how we do it safely and effectively.
How Radio Frequency Works
RF energy uses high-frequency electromagnetic waves to heat the deeper dermal layer to 40–42°C — the precise temperature range that triggers collagen contraction and new collagen synthesis without damaging the surface skin.
Face & Neck Tightening
RF facials target the lower face, jowls, neck and décolletage. Most clients see firmer skin and improved jawline definition after 4–6 sessions, with continued improvement over 12 weeks.
Body Skin Tightening
Larger RF applicators treat abdomen (especially post-pregnancy or post-weight-loss), upper arms ('bingo wings'), inner thighs and the bra-line area. Often combined with cavitation for fat reduction.
RF vs HIFU vs Laser
RF is non-ablative, safe for all skin types, and stimulates collagen at moderate depths. HIFU goes deeper but is more uncomfortable and less suitable for thinner skin. Lasers can address pigmentation and surface texture but don't tighten as effectively as RF.
Supporting Collagen Production
Collagen production requires adequate protein, vitamin C, zinc and good sleep. Our nutrition guidance covers exactly what supports your body's collagen-building response between sessions.
Realistic Expectations
RF produces gradual, natural-looking firming — typically a 20–40% improvement in skin laxity over a course. It is not a replacement for surgical lifting in cases of severe, advanced laxity.
